Evangelist Tanyhill's Biography
Evangelist Laura Tanyhill is a daughter of the Triedstone Baptist
Church of Columbus, Ohio under the leadership of Bishop
Jerome H. Ross, Sr.
She is a faithful and dedicated “Woman of God”, is the Co-
Laborer of the Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church in
Syracuse, New York where her husband, The Rev. Dr. David L.
Tanyhill, is the Pastor. She is a native of Columbus, Ohio.
Evangelist Tanyhill currently leads the “Women’s Ministry” of
Bellegrove, where she founded the “ Chosen Vessels Ministry”.
Under her leadership the women’s ministry has grown
tremendously, where she has formed a yearly “women’s retreat,
which has been held in cities such as Alexandria Bay, New York,
Baltimore, Maryland, Secaucus, New Jersey and Lancaster,
Pennsylvania and a yearly "Women’s Conference”. She also
founded the “Drill Team” at Bellegrove.
Before moving to New York, she was the First Lady of the First
Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Ohio where she was voted
“Woman of the Year” on September 18, 1998, for the Chillicothe
District Association. She was Awarded the “Woman of
Excellence Award” as a First Lady of Central New York by the
Ester’s Daughter’s Ministries on May 17, 2003, and was
recently awarded the Marjorie Dowdell Fortitude Award by the
Syracuse Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for
her Public Service Contribution. Evangelist Tanyhill has been
traveling extensively ministering the word of God. She says her
life is based on her favorite scripture “Psalm 27:1” The Lord is
my light and salvation and gives God all the honor and glory for
the “favor” he has placed on her life.
She can currently be seen on a TV commercial, along with her
husband, “Promoting the Growth of Syracuse”.
She is constantly seeking further Education in the Lord to be
able to effectively minister the word of God and holds her
Diploma of Practical Theology, and her Advanced Diploma of
Practical Theology from International Seminary and is now
pursuing her Bachelors of Theology. She has received her
distinction as a “Certified Apartment Manager through the
National Center for Housing Management in Washington, D.C.
where she worked in Management for “18 years,” but is
currently employed by the Onondaga-Cortland-Madison Board of
Cooperative Education.
Although she loves the work she does for the Lord, she also
enjoys spending time with she children, her two sons, David &
Wife Melissa of Springfield, Ohio and Min. Derrick & Wife
Nolita of Syracuse and her grandchildren.
